Protein Removal And Disinfecting Solution For All Types Of RGP Corneal, Scleral Lenses & Artificial Eyes

Tear residue starts depositing on the surface of a rigid lens,
over a period of time which can affect the lens performance.

As the front surface is exposed to the atmosphere, hence it is prone to having more
scratches and tear residue deposits as compared to the back surface of a rigid lens.

Deposits on the lens surface affect lens performance

    1. Reduced Wearing Schedule
    2. Increase Lid Interaction
    3. Effect Ocular Health
    4. Hydrophobic Lens Surface
    5. Reduced Wearing Comfort
    6. Reduced Visual Clarity
    7. Reduced Wearing Comfort
    8. Reduced Oxygen Transmission To The  Cornea

For time immemorial there has been no clear solution or answer for complete rigid contact lens cleaning and disinfection. Worn out Rigid Lenses were returned to the laboratory manufacturer for cleaning, polishing and buffing which was almost a week’s process. This procedure can only be performed on the front surface of the lens to remove the deposits and scratches but it also left fine micro buffing marks on the lens surface which eventually hinders lens performance. This also led to frequent deposits, hydrophobic and rough lens surface.
Back surface lens Polishing and cleaning is not at all recommended, as it may disturb the lens
optics, fitting and lens dimensions.

A patient using scleral lenses for the last two years was presented with the complaint of

  • Eye Redness
  • Blurry Vision
  • Discomfort
  • Dryness
  • Reduced wearing schedule

Clinically examination of the lens surface

Pro-Master removes the deposits from both lens surfaces including the edges which tend to attract more deposits. This solution does so without physical friction and works wonderfully on all special thin rigid lenses. The lenses can be cleaned very conveniently and it also enhances lens performance and furthermore leads to longer lens life. Deposits tend to reduce the contrast sensitivity by 30-40%. It is clinically observed that it regained after cleaning with Pro-Master. Patient response after cleaning with Pro-Master is extremely positive. Improvement is observed in visual clarity and wearing comfort.
